The Titanic - Projects - History

 For the last few weeks we have been learning about the Titanic. The children worked on projects exploring this topic in greater detail and found out some very interesting facts. They presented them to the class this week and the presentations were very engaging. I really commend them for working on their presentation skills. They included lots of interesting facts, images and were knowledgeable about the content. Lots of children included quizzes to see who was listening. They did a super job! Well done!

Tennis

This week we had a visiting tennis coach come to the school to do tennis with all the classes. 4th and 5th really enjoyed it! They practiced tennis skills, played tennis games and enjoyed the lovely weather. It was a very enjoyable day.

Seachtain na Gaeilge - Ceilí

For Seachtain na Gaeilge we had a ceilí in the classroom where children played tunes for their class. Some children chose to play a tune on their own, others played in smaller groups. I was so impressed with the amazing musicians. It was lovely to hear all the beautiful music and after the whole school ceilí on Lá Glas, some children visited 1st and 3rd class to play some tunes for them. Keep up the lovely music!

Engineer's week 2026

For Engineer's week this year, 4th and 5th class were learning about different types of engineering e.g. biomedical engineering, computer engineering, civil engineering etc. Everyone chose one type to investigate further and created super projects and models too. We invited all the classes in the school to visit our classroom during Engineers week to learn about the different types of engineering. It was a very enjoyable day!

Art

Below are two examples of Art we have been working on in the last few weeks. We explored the theme of space in January and completed two art works based on this theme: salt art of a moon or planet and astronaut art exploring lines, shapes, patterns, drawings etc. We also completed art based on World War 2 focusing on the Blitz.
