Ms. Dervan's 4th & 5th class

The children are loving their new Aistear theme - The Jungle. They are learning about the Jungle in 5 different stations: role play, small world, art, playdough and construction. They made great playdough creations, had fun exploring Junk Art activities and loved constructing things for the Jungle out of LEGO. The floor puzzle was a big hit as was the Small world station. A favourite station this week was the role play area set up for Jungle explorers. It was lots of fun and all the children are looking forward to the next two weeks of Aistear fun!                      

 Junior and Senior Infants had lots of fun this week doing Jungle Art. They had loads of fun experimenting with the different materials, fabric and fibre to create their animals.             

 Today was World Book Day and the children all dressed up as a character from their favourite book. The costumes were amazing and the children had lots of fun reading their favourite books!

 We listened to another great engineering story this week called 'Rosie Revere, Engineer'. In this story we learned that Rosie loved to invent all kinds of things. She used what she could find in the rubbish bin to create amazing gizmos and gadgets and she persevered even when things were difficult. The children enjoyed the story and then used the whiteboards to draw their own amazing inventions.
