Readathon Dress-up Day

Image
Junior Infants had lots of fun dressing up today as their favourite book character. It was a great way to end the Readathon and there were loads of cool costumes in this classoom such as princesses, hurlers, dinosaurs, dragons, superheros, ballerinas, a flamingo and many more. Happy Easter everyone!

Lá Glas

Image
We had lots of fun on Lá Glas. The Junior Infants loved dressing in their green clothes. We sang our favourite Irish songs and went up to Labane Hall for a big céilí. We enjoyed listening to all the music groups play their tunes and enjoyed all the lovely songs as Gaeilge. The big dance at the end was especially fun! We also had lots of fun playing biongó with Senior Infants. Happy St. Patrick's Day from Junior Infants.

We are enjoying Seachtain na Gaeilge this week. We loved having 3rd and 4th class visit us for buddy reading as Gaeilge! It was so much fun. Thaitin sé go mór linn.

Engineer's Week 2023

Image
This week is Engineer's week. Junior Infants learned about engineers and all the cool things they make. We looked at famous landmarks from around the world. We were very fortunate today to visit Ms. Mitchell's 3rd and 4th class. They had made amazing buildings from around the world and Junior Infants were so excited to visit their class and learn about the different buildings. We also had a visit from 1st class today and they told us all about their cool fun fair creations. We were amazed and Junior Infants were so excited to make their own creations .

Pots of Gold

Children created their own rainbows and pots of gold this week in Art for St. Patrick's Day. We are looking forward to Seachtain na Gaeilge and our Lá Glas next week. We have our rainbow art proudly on display in our classroom!

Spring

Image
We have been learning about Spring in Junior Infants. We talked about the different signs of Spring that we can see outside and talked about daffodils. Children created their own Spring flowers in Art last week and they were so proud to display them outside our classroom. They worked really hard on them and used a range of art materials so creatively to create flowers e.g. some used feathers, colourful tape or stickers to create different shapes for different flowers. We also did some writing about Spring. The children in Junior Infants are working hard on their pencil grip and neat writing. They made a super effort!
