Ms. Dervan's 4th & 5th class

Senior Infants have been working on their handwriting this week. I was very impressed with their hard work and they have been doing some lovely writing in their books and copies also. 

 Junior Infants did hand-print art at the start of Junior Infants to make a special memento of the start of 'Big School'.  My First Day of School There used to be so many of my fingerprints to see, On furniture and walls and things from sticky, little me! But if you’ll stop to think awhile you’ll see I’m growing fast. These little handprints disappear; you can’t bring back what’s past. So here’s a small reminder to keep, not wipe away, Of tiny hands and how they looked, to make you smile someday.

Junior Infants have been busy this week making sets. They made loads of great sets. Some sorted sets by colour, size or by object. Have a look at all the great classifying / sorting we did this week!            

 In SESE this week we talked about growing and all the things we need to grow. The children gave some super answers - fruits, vegetables, hydration, exercise, fresh air, healthy food. So many great suggestions. Then we had fun making things as tall as them. Some things were even as tall as me. Great work!      

Junior and Senior Infants love play time! Lots of fun was had playing with the different toys and playing with friends. Some very cool creations and lots of collaboration!
