Ms. Dervan's 4th & 5th class

Loads of fun was had on our school this year. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class headed off on the double decker bus early on Tuesday and headed into Salthill. The first stop was the Aquarium where the children were taken on a guided tour with their class to see lots of cool, colourful and interesting sea creatures. The second stop on our tour was Monkey Business where the children had so much fun (and had the place to themselves) to play on bouncing castles, slides, ball pits, climbing frames, kick football, build with giant LEGO and so much more. It was a great day out!

We have been doing some fun maths activities in Junior and Senior Infants. We took maths outside one day. Some children practiced their numbers and did number lines. Others did sums and practiced their addition and subtraction. Some children drew a house and filled it with numbers. Senior Infants even decided to practice their skip counting and counted in 5s and 10s all the way to 100. Then we did data in the classroom with Smarties to find out which smartie colour was the most / least popular in each box. It was lots of fun!
