Ms. Dervan's 4th & 5th class

We had lots of fun today for our Halloween dress up day. The children had such great costumes. They really enjoyed visiting another class to show off their costumes and loved seeing all the other costumes on the yard. We had a little Halloween dance party and lots of Halloween fun. 

We have been learning about Autumn and have been listening to lots of Autumn stories. We have also been exploring the topic of Autumn through play. Activities included the sand station, leaf stencils, building homes for hibernating animals, small world play on the farm, Autumn playdough activities and sensory play. 

 We have been having lots of fun this week for Maths week. We have listened to stories, number songs and poems. We have played lots of games and loved playing BINGO. Junior Infants have been busy exploring the topic of 'patterns' and created great patterns of their own. We also had lots of fun with different stations this week including Topmarks Maths game on the ipads, number puzzles, creating number lines, hungry numbers and lollipop stick patterns.
