Science week 2024

Image
We had so much fun this week in Junior Infants for Science week. We have been very busy doing experiments every day: dancing raisins, skittles experiment, lava lamp, elephant toothpaste, candle and magic water experiment and capillary action (kitchen towel colour) experiment. The children also did great work at home, doing experiments and creating very impressive vehicles as part of a STEM task. We have also been learning some cool facts. Did you know: - It is impossible to lick your own elbow - Snakes smell with their tongues - Our fingernails grow twice as fast as our toe nails - Apples float on water Today the children drew a picture in their SESE copies of their favourite experiment. Great work Junior Infants!

Homes

For the month of November we are learning about the theme of 'Homes'. We read the story 'The Three Little Pigs'. The children loved acting out the different parts. We then did a STEM task where the children built lots of lovely homes using a range of different toys. See some of the lovely homes below. We also did shape art and worked on collaborative drawing and cutting projects.
