Learning Stations

Image
We had lots of fun this week at different learning stations. It was fun to practice our patterns and explore the sensory stations. We had fun at the free writing and drawing table and Junior Infants explored our new number 5 by making lots of sets of 5. Both classes enjoyed using the ipads. Seniors practiced our topic of money while Juniors had lots of fun counting, matching and ordering.

STEAM - Make a musical instrument.

This week the children in Junior and Senior Infants explored a STEAM activity in Science and Art to make maracas. We looked at different materials that we could use to make different sounds e.g. rice, pasta, sugar, peas, coins, paper, pegs etc. The children experimented with the different materials to make their own maracas. They used recycled boxes and bottles to create their instruments. Then they spent lots of time decorating them before we played them along to music. It was great fun!

Snow Globe Art

Junior and Senior Infants made their own snow globes in Art. It was a great way to practice our cutting skills. They worked very hard and loved decorating them.

We have been learning about patterns in Junior and Senior Infants. The children are very good at making their own patterns using a range of concrete materials and toys. Last week they made patterns using stickers. Have a look at all the patterns below!
