Junior and Senior Infants made their own snow globes in Art. It was a great way to practice our cutting skills. They worked very hard and loved decorating them.
We had such a great trip to Fahy family farm in Ardrahan today for Agri Awarness Open Day. The children learned lots about different animals on the farm as well as about the river water and different types of grass. They loved walking around the farm, seeing the animals and watching the sheep shearing. They had lots of great questions for all the workers on the farm. The Junior Infants were delighted to go home with farm themed party bags. It was a brilliant day out! Thanks so much for having us!
It was Engineer's week this week and Junior Infants really enjoyed exploring this. We talked about the job of the engineer and looked at amazing feats of engineering from around the world. We read the story 'Rapunzel' and tried to come up with lots of ways to help her escape from the tower. The children drew their ideas and then created them using a range of toys and materials. One girl made a pair of magic wings to help Rapunzel escape. Another made a pair of magic glasses. Other ideas included ziplines, walls, slides, stairs, ladders as well as contraptions to stop the witch. I think there are definitely some future engineers in this class!
